Actor Vince Vaughn stopped by the DeFleury Dining Facility Sept. 6 to give
Task Force Baghdad Soldiers a special viewing of his latest movie, "The
Wedding Crashers."
The visit was intended to boost the Soldiers’ morale with the hit movie
and an autograph session afterwards.
Vaughn said he was excited to bring his new release to Soldiers in Iraq
while it was still playing in theaters back in the U.S.
The actor came out to a large crowd that packed the dining facility and
the Soldiers’ excitement was obvious as they welcomed him with a standing
ovation.
He thanked the Soldiers for the job they do and talked about the movie
before playing it for the Soldiers.
Vaughn later signed autographs and posed for photos with every Soldier in
attendance.
"I think the fact that he would come here was really admirable. Events
like this really boost the Soldiers’ morale, and give them a highlight in
their day," said Sgt. 1st Class William Hobgood. "Seeing him on the big
screen, and then seeing him in front of you really personalizes him. It’s
great to see someone so famous interacting with the Soldiers."
