FORWARD OPERATING BASE RUSTAMIYAH, Iraq -

| Paratroopers assigned to Battery A, 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, render honors during a transition ceremony Dec. 31 at Forward Operating Base Rustamiyah. The 1st Bn., 319th FA Regt., based out of Fort Bragg, N.C., transitioned with Soldiers of the 5th Battalion, 25th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. William McRae, a native of Cleveland, and commander of 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, along with Command Sgt. Maj. Steven Payton, a native of Grenada, Miss., the battalion's senior enlisted leader, unveil the battalion colors during a transition ceremony Dec 31 at Forward Operating Base Rustamiyah. I have read previously that FOB Rustamiyah really smells bad and has tons
of flies. There are huge garbage incinerators near there. Sorry
guys...looks like you drew the 'short straw' so to speak. Maybe things
have changed in '09.
