| Staff Sgt. Chanelcherie DeMello, 305th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment from Honolulu, Hawaii, performs a hula dance with Soldiers from U.S. Division-South during a luau held at the Resiliency Campus on Contingency Operating Base Basra, June 18. The luau was a cultural alternative to a "Hail and Farewell" ceremony for the 305th, which redeploys this week. Guests at the event were garnished with leis made from card-stock flowers and parachute cord, served Hawaiian barbecue, and treated to Pacific Island music performed by a live band. The 305th, made up of Soldiers from Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, Palau, and American Samoa, served in the public affairs offices for the 1st and 36th Infantry Divisions, August 2010 to June 2011.
