Blackanthem Military News
The National Day of Service is an opportunity for Americans of every age and background to celebrate the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through volunteer service projects across the nation.

On Monday, January 19, 2009, Operation Gratitude is honored to join Washington DC Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and Serve DC  (the Mayor's Office on Volunteerism), in partnership with our dedicated sponsor, Target, and thousands of volunteers from across the country to assemble care kits for inclusion in the Operation Gratitude care packages that will be shipped in 2009.

"A Day of Service for Our Military" will provide the opportunity for all Americans to express their appreciation to those who serve our nation in uniform.

If you will be in the D.C. area, please sign up now to volunteer for a shift, lasting approximately one hour, to assemble the care kits. Writing letters of thanks to our Military will also be encouraged. The event will take place inside a heated tent on the field of the historic Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, DC.
