Museum of Aviation needs Volunteers

Warner Robins, Georgia - The Museum of Aviation is looking for individuals who would like to spend a few hours each week working as a volunteer in the exciting atmosphere of U.S. Air Force Aviation History. The Museum has expanded its exhibit space with the addition of the World War II exhibit hangar and additional volunteers are needed. With the addition of the new exhibit building the Museum will have four exhibit buildings that require a volunteer presence.

Each exhibit building has a visitor desk where volunteers welcome and greet the visitors in the Museum.  The volunteers are there to assist visitors any way necessary. They also walk the floors of the Museum while visitors are present to help keep an eye on exhibits and see to the needs of the visitors.

The Museum is open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day and the afternoons of the day before Christmas and News Years.  The morning shift for volunteers is 9:00am until 1:00pm and the afternoon shift is 1:00pm until 5:00pm. Volunteers can generally choose the shift they would like to work and can work as few as one shift or multiple shifts if they wish.

The basic requirements for the volunteer position are 18 years of age, a pleasant attitude, professional appearance, being dependable and having the desire to serve in a capacity that helps the Museum and the community. Volunteers do not have to have a military or aviation background to work at the Museum of Aviation. Many of the current volunteers never served in the military and have found that it is a rewarding experience. Museum volunteers are also needed for aircraft restoration work.  Sheet metal experience is preferred, but a desire to work on aircraft matters most.
