ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Georgia - Eighteen members of the 128th Airborne Command and Control Squadron, 116th Air Control Wing were selected as the Air Force Association Air Battle Management Crew of the Year for 2011.
The crew received the award for their superior air battle management while supporting Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. During twenty combat missions, the crew supported one hundred seventy-two named Army operations, during which fourteen high valued individuals were captured. The crew was also instrumental in the seizure of a large cache of drugs and explosives, severely weakening enemy infrastructure.
The crew is scheduled to receive the award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in Sept.
