Randy Jones
ROBINS AFB, GA - Whether it's testing bomb release circuitry for a B-52, or helping a little leaguer realize his dream of hitting his first homerun at the World Series, Randy Jones is focused on ensuring the mission is accomplished.

As an engineer fresh out of Tennessee Tech, Jones came to Warner Robins in 1989 to provide software support for the F-15 fighter. Presently, he works in the 402nd Electronics Maintenance Group as a manufacturing process engineer with a team that possesses the unique capability to quickly design, document and produce hard-to-procure electronics assemblies with limited or no technical data. He ensures processes utilized by shop technicians are efficient and technically accurate so that the manufactured electronics for Air Force aerospace weapons systems and support equipment are of the highest quality.

"Randy works well with our other engineers and the shop technicians ensuring the final product produced by our organization meets our customer's requirements and is on time," said his supervisor, Gus Spurlin.

Jones is also the project manager for an effort to upgrade the B-52 electronics by redesigning the circuitry that regulates bomb release and control.

"Working with Randy has been a pleasurable experience," said Tracy Tillman, Electronic Systems Division manager for Mercer Engineering Research Center, who is the design partner for the B-52 project. "His passion for work and achieving success at work is as strong as his passion for working with his little league team. His calm, focused approach to problem resolution is evident in all that he does."

Jones lives in Warner Robins with his wife and three children. He led the Warner Robins Little League team to state and regional titles in 2007. He was selected to coach again this year and championed the All-Star team to the World Series with a record of 17 wins and only one loss by one run to the eventual world champions. He attributed the Little League's success these past few years to parents, coaches and board of directors being able to balance work life with personal time.

"Many of the coaches and board members work on the base. It makes for better team building when we have common causes outside of the workplace," he said.

Jones finds supporting the warfighter and providing engineering solutions to keep them successfully flying around the globe a gratifying job.

"It's great to work in an organization that is supportive of its employees and their personal goals," he said.
