Troop Appreciation Dinners for Wounded Warriors
DULLES, VA - Freedom Alliance today reported that its partnership with TriWest Healthcare Alliance to sponsor Troop Appreciation Dinners has been extremely successful. These events were held to say "thank you" to our soldiers, many of whom are wounded, and their families to honor their service and sacrifice. These dinners included great food, entertainment, gifts, and fond memories. Sponsorship of these events is part of TriWest's overall $40,000 contribution to Freedom Alliance. Thanks to the gift, thousands of Wounded Warriors and their families have been entertained throughout TriWest's 21-state West Region.
Troop Appreciation Dinners have taken place for service members at the following installations: Fort Carson in Colorado, Fort Huachuca in Arizona, Fort Bliss in Texas, Camp Pendleton in California, Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, Fort Wainwright and Fort Richardson in Alaska, Fort Riley in Kansas, and Fort Lewis in Washington.
SFC Petru from Fort Richardson described the event he attended as "a wonderful evening and meal." He went on to say, "Thanks a million. It's nice to know we are not forgotten."
"Freedom Alliance is honored to give America's heroes a much deserved night to relax and enjoy themselves with their friends and family," Freedom Alliance President Thomas Kilgannon stated today. "TriWest Healthcare Alliance has been a wonderful partner in our efforts to sponsor events that show our service members how appreciative our country is for their sacrifice. We are proud to partner with such a patriotic organization and we hope that we have helped raise morale for our warriors."
Many of the dinners left a lasting impression on those in attendance. "As a military wife, I have never been invited to such an eloquent and appreciative dinner like this in the 20 years of my husband in the military," explained Mrs. Salamo, whose husband is stationed at Fort Carson.
SGT Shoulderblade, who is also stationed at Fort Carson said, "I feel this dinner wasn't just a free meal but a memory that will keep me going in the direction of fighting, not just for myself but much more."
"These service members and their families endure a large amount of physical and emotional stress as a result of injuries sustained during their service to our country," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "We hope these dinners helped lift their spirits and aided in the healing process."
Those in attendance were grateful for the Troop Appreciation Dinners and felt that they were important. SSG Daniels from Fort Bliss commented that "it is people like you [Freedom Alliance & TriWest] that keep us [Troops] going and going to serve and protect our great land of America." Mrs. Monge, whose husband is stationed at Fort Riley felt that the dinner she attended was a "great event and a morale booster for our soldiers."
