FORT HOOD, Texas - Eight Fort Hood Soldiers will be honored at a formal retirement ceremony at III Corps Flagpole on Friday (Nov. 21).
The senior retiree at the ceremony is Lt. Col. Randall O'Brien, who prior to retirement served as Inspector General, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 13th Sustainment Command.
O'Brien will retire after 25 years of service. During his career, he served overseas in Germany, Saudi Arabia and Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
Lt. Col. O'Brien will reside in Harker Heights.
Other Soldiers being honored upon their retirement from active duty include:
Chief Warrant Officer Carlos Pineda will retire after 23 years of service. Prior to retirement he worked as Brigade Maintenance Technician, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 36th Engineer Brigade, III Corps. Pineda's overseas tours include Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. After retirement, Pineda will reside in Copperas Cove.
Sgt. Maj. Vickie Kuk, who served as Command Paralegal Noncommissioned Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, III Corps prior to retirement, has completed 27 years of service, including tours in Germany, Hawaii, Korea, and Iraq. She has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Kuk will reside in Killeen.
Sgt. Maj. Calandria Hypolite served as Chief Medical Noncommissioned Officer, III Corps Surgeon Office, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, III Corps prior to her retirement. Hypolite has completed 22 years of service and served overseas tours in Germany, Korea, Kuwait and Iraq. Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. Hypolite will reside in Killeen.
Master Sgt. Leo Crimbley served as Chief Ammunition Noncommissioned Officer In-charge, Headquarters and Headquarters company, 25th Special Troops Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, Hawaii prior to his retirement. Crimbley completed 26 years of service to include overseas tours in Germany, Korea, Bosnia, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Crimbley will reside in Killeen.
Sgt. 1st Class Tyrrence Townsend, who served as the Senior Communications Chief, 16th Signal Company, 57th Expeditionary Signal Battalion will retire after 21 years of service that included overseas tours in Korea, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, and Iraq. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. Townsend will reside in Copperas Cove.
Sgt. 1st Class Tony McKenney served as Charlie Battery Noncommissioned Officer In-charge, 2nd Battalion, 395th Field Artillery Regiment, 120th Infantry Brigade, First Army prior to retirement. He has completed 23 years of service to include overseas tours in Germany, Korea, Bosnia and Haiti. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. McKenney will reside in Killeen.
Sgt. 1st Class Victor Trujillo served as Operations Sergeant, 178th Military Police Detachment, 89th Military Police Brigade, III Corps prior to retirement. He served 23 years to include overseas tours in Germany, Korea and Iraq. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. Trujillo will reside in Kempner.
