RUMAYTHA, Iraq - Abu Sarifa Village, on the outskirts of Rumaytha, will soon receive a six-classroom school that will serve children of various ages in the community.
Construction on the $323,906 School began mid March last year and will be complete at the end of this month. The Al Iraq Handasiya Company constructed the school with the assistance of 100 local workers.
The Director General of Education supported this project and agreed to assume operational and structural maintenance of the facility after it opens.
The Muthanna Provincial Reconstruction Team coordinated the project, which was funded by the U.S. Army.
The new school building includes water tanks, generator, bathrooms, and desks for the students. The school will employ 20 teachers and maintenance workers.
