Multi-National Corps IraqBALAD, Iraq - Iraqi Security Forces, advised by U.S. Special Forces, recovered a weapons cache and killed 10 criminals in separate operations in Basra April 3 and 4.

An Iraqi Emergency Response Unit conducted an operation to locate and eliminate weapon caches used by criminal members in the Mufaqiyah district. The ERU unit located two caches, including 60 mm mortar rounds, rocket propelled grenades and explosively formed penetrators.

During another operation, the ISOF team came under heavy EFP, IED and small-arms fire attacks. The team returned fire killing two persons who were attacking ISOF. Two Coalition force aircraft provided close-air support killing eight additional individuals involved in the attack.
