
ISF arrest suspected AQI member in southwest Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi Security Forces arrested a suspected Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) member during a joint security operation today in southwest Baghdad.
ISF and U.S. advisors conducted a vehicle stop to apprehend the suspected AQI member allegedly involved in the facilitation of improvised explosive device parts and components.
Information and evidence gathered at the scene led Iraqi forces to identify and arrest the warranted individual.
All joint operations are pursuant to a warrant issued by an Iraqi judge.
Iraqi and U.S. forces conduct joint operations in accordance with the Security Agreement and in coordination with the Iraqi government to target terrorists seeking to disrupt the security and stability of Iraq.
