AQI conducts VBIED attacks against Sons of Iraq

TIKRIT, Iraq - A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated in Tikrit, targeting members of the Sons of Iraq March 26.
Initial reports indicate seven SOI members and two Iraqi citizens were wounded in the attack. The injured were evacuated to a local Iraqi medical facility for treatment.
"This incident is just another example of the desperation AQI is showing," said Maj. Dan Meyers, a spokesman for Multi-National Division - North. "Acts of intimidation and cowardice such as these demonstrate the lack of regard for innocent civilian life."
