BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - Several militants were killed Monday during a reconnaissance patrol by Afghan National Security Forces and Coalition forces in Maywand District, Kandahar province.

The militants attacked the patrol using multiple rockets. The patrol positively identified several militants at a rocket launching site and pursued them when they fled to a fortified position. Close air support was called in and the militants were killed with precision airstrikes.

No ANSF, Coalition forces or civilian casualties were reported.
