KABUL, Afghanistan - ISAF soldiers from the Australian Reconstruction Task Force (RTF) have travelled more than 400 kilometres through Taliban territory to rebuild two vital bridges, which where blown up by insurgents a few weeks ago.

NATO turned to the RTF to complete the task because no other units in Afghanistan were available to carry out the dual Infantry and Engineering tasks.

The diggers of Combat Team Dagger took the armoured column from their base in Tarin Kowt, more than 400 kilometres to Zabol and Ghazni Provinces, close to the border of Pakistan. They have now returned to Tarin Kowt.
