Blackanthem Military News KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan National Security Forces and ISAF Combined Task Force Currahee began joint operations against insurgents today in the Ajiristan district of Ghazni province.
The centre was recently taken over by militants in retaliation of the arrest of a key militant leader by the Afghan National Police on Monday. Governor Osman, other Afghan civil and military leaders in Ghazni and ISAF coordinated their effort to re-take the Ajiristan District Center.
Joint operations began today with a coordinated airstrike on insurgents armed with AK-47 rifles and rocket propelled grenades inside the village of Ajiristan. Several insurgents have been killed and wounded.
Joint ISAF and Afghan military operations in the area are ongoing.
