KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan National Security Force (ANSF) and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members are continuing to improve the lives of Afghan citizens living in the Giro District of Ghazni.

During recent five-day operation, ANSF and ISAF combined their skills to increase safety in the area and provide much needed goods to the local population. In all, more than 150 families from two of the poorest villages in the district, Panah and Babakhur, benefitted from receiving humanitarian aid.

ANSF and ISAF troops delivered food, blankets and hand-held farming equipment to help stimulate local improvement. The operation, ending on June 15, resulted in two humanitarian aid drops and one shura.

Thirty elders from villages in the district attended the shura with both ANSF and ISAF troops, June 14. The meeting gave the villagers an opportunity to voice their concerns to ANSF and ISAF personnel regarding local issues and the upcoming elections.
