WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) announced today that members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs will meet to mark-up several pieces of legislation pending before the committee. After the mark-up, the committee will consider the nomination of Michael W. Hager, of Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Human Resources and Management. The mark-up and hearing will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in room 562 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
Agenda items scheduled for consideration during the mark-up include: S. 2004 - The Epilepsy Centers of Excellence, S. 2142 - The Veterans Emergency Care Fairness Act of 2007, S. 2160 -The Veterans Pain Care Act of 2007 and S. 2162 - The Mental Health Improvements Act of 2007.
Immediately following the markup, the committee will proceed to consider the nomination of Michael W. Hager, of Virginia, to be Assistant Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Human Resources and Management.
Mr. Hager has held a variety of positions in the human resources industry. He has worked in human resource management positions at corporations like the athletic apparel company Russell Corporation and other companies including the McGraw Edison Company and Rockwell International. Hager holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bluefield State College in Bluefield, West Virginia.

I have Neropathy from service in Vietnam and the V.A. refused me
compensation for my neropathy although the Airforce agrees that ha heve the
illness
I currently am classified with 80% disability.
I am a retired Master Sergeant having served 22 years from 1954 --1976.
