Blackanthem Military News, BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – U.S. Army Special Forces and Soldiers of the Afghan National Army provided humanitarian supplies and medical aid to villagers in the Keshay Valley of Uruzgan Province earlier this week.

Ninety Afghans received medical treatment while humanitarian supplies were distributed to more than 200 villagers during the visit to the area.

Recent military operations in the Keshay Valley have enhanced the security situation, making delivery of the supplies and medical aid possible, said Col. Thomas Collins, Coalition spokesman.

“The villagers were grateful for the medical aid and supplies they received,” Collins said.  “This effort was made possible by the efforts of Afghan Government officials in the area who have worked hard to get the aid, with the Coalition and ANA’s assistance, into areas that badly need it.”
