Major General Douglas M. Stone, Deputy Commanding General, Detainee Operations, Multi-National Force - Iraq
Blackanthem Military News, BAGHDAD, Iraq — Major General Douglas M. Stone, USMC, assumed duties as Deputy Commanding General, Detainee Operations, Multi-National Force-Iraq and Commander, Task Force 134, May 5, relieving Major General Jack Gardner who had served in the position since November 2005.

“For the past 17 months Major General Gardner has done an incredible job leading the task force, ensuring the safety of our guard force and providing the best care to our detainees.  The high standards that he set and maintained as the magnitude of detention operations grew are a real testament to his character,’ said Major General Stone

“Detention operations are vital to the stability and security of Iraq.  We will continue to provide valuable services to the counter-insurgency effort,” Stone said.
