The 1103rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, a unit attached to the 1st Sustainment Brigade, inducted 56 new noncommissioned officers into the time-honored NCO Corps at a ceremony April 9. The induction ceremony was held for all of the Soldiers in the battalion who were promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the last quarter. During the event, the inductees listened as senior-ranking NCOs spoke about the responsibilities they will face as NCOs. They also took an oath to uphold the Army values and recited the NCO creed.

At the event, Winstead offered a few words of wisdom on being an NCO. "Respect is hard to earn and can easily be lost. Don't lose all the respect you've earned in your career with one bad action," said Winstead.
