BAGHDAD, Iraq - Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldiers discovered a weapons cache Nov. 16 in southern Baghdad's Rashid district.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. in the Jihad community, Soldiers from Company C, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B, discovered five 82 mm mortar rounds and an undisclosed amount of detonation cord while on patrol.

An explosive ordnance disposal unit arrived on the scene to properly dispose of the munitions.

"Thanks to the improved security situation in the Rashid district, citizens are able to move back to normalcy in their daily lives," said Maj. Dave Olson, 1st BCT Spokesman, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B. "The 1st ‘Raider' Brigade continues to conduct full-spectrum operations working closely with the Iraqi Security Forces in southern Baghdad."
