Maj. Gen. (POL) Tadeusz Buk, Multi-National Division-Central South commanding general, Sheikh Hussein Hadi Al-Badri, Maj. Gen. Othman Ali Farhood, 8th Iraqi Army Division CG, Brig. Gen. Safa'a Kadhim Akmoush, chief of the Kadisiyah Iraqi Police and Col. David Leckron, deputy commander, MND-CS, gather for a coordination meeting in Diwaniyah Oct. 16. The meeting was conducted to assess the current security situation and to coordinate future plans.
DIWANIYAH, Iraq - Maj. Gen. Tadeusz Buk, Multi-National Division-Central South commander, joined the commander of the 8th Iraqi Army Division and Iraqi Police to attend a meeting at Camp Echo Oct. 16.

The aim of the meeting was to assess the current situation and to work out a common plan of joint activity.

The Diwaniya Authority was represented by Sheikh Hussein Hadi Al-Badri, chief of the security committee in the Provincial Council.  Iraqi Security Forces were represented by the commander of the 8th IA Div., Maj. Gen. Othman Ali Farhood and the chief of Iraqi Police, Gen. Safa'a Kadhim Akmoush.

Participants assessed the current situation after an attack on a joint base for the ISF and CF and agreed on a joint activity to improve the security situation and sustain law and order. All sides stressed the importance of coordinating joint activities and increasing presence of ISF in the eastern part of Diwaniya City. 

Sheikh Hussein Hadi expressed satisfaction toward CF's activities and assured support from local Iraqi authorities to force criminal groups out of the city. 

ISF and CF have established a temporary security station in the Iskan neighborhood as part of the Oil Drop operation. The aim of Oil Drop is to provide security and improve life conditions for local citizens by patrolling and distributing humanitarian aid.
