Expeditionary Times
Good afternoon and greetings from Balad, Iraq.
This week we bid farewell to the 96th Sustainment Brigade. The Utah based "Deadeye Ready" brigade completed their mission and conducted an End of Mission ceremony yesterday.
Gen. Raymond Odierno, the commanding general of United States Forces-Iraq visited us on the 21st and recognized some great Provider Soldiers with coins and even reenlisted one of our NCOs.
Today is an important day for bird watchers and antarctititians (I made that word up - it means "One who studies Antarctica), alike. April 25th is World Penguin Day. So take some time to learn a little about penguins, or go enjoy a nice penguin burger. Here, I'll get you started. World Penguin Day coincides with the annual northward migration of penguins. This happens each year on or around April 25th. Penguins do not fly. Rather, they walk, waddle and swim their way to and from. Did you know penguins are found in Antarctica, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Peru, the Falkland Islands, and the Galapagos Islands. Elsewhere, they are only found in zoos.
Your Soldiers want to hear from you...so if you want to send a message to your loved one, send it to [email protected]
