GHAZNI PROVINCE, Afghanistan — Representatives from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan visited Task Force White Eagle for an education and development conference, Dec. 19.

Brig. Gen. Piotr Błazeusz, TF White Eagle commander, was on hand to greet delegates from the finance, agriculture and education ministries of the Afghan central government and their local counterparts from the Ghazni provincial government.

Polish and International Security Assistance Force representatives, along with representatives of the U.S. Embassy and the State Department were also on-hand to attend the talks on behalf of Coalition Forces.

The purpose of the conference was to familiarize government representatives with the budget working group and to exchange views on development in the education and agricultural sectors using financial resources. However, the main area of interest was the budget of Ghazni province and the amount of off-budget financial resources allocated to support its programs.

Over the next two weeks, the working group plans to send 15 Ghazni administration representatives for training, which will be conducted by the Afghan Civil Services Institute in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Kabul.
