
NAVEUR-NAVAF Fleet Master Chief Reaches Sailors Via AFN

NAPLES, Italy - U.S. Naval Forces Europe-U.S. Naval Forces Africa Fleet Master Chief (SW/AW/NAC) Brad LeVault is using radio broadcasts to address the concerns of Sailors and their families.
He is addressing these concerns through a weekly Armed Forces Network Naples live radio show every Thursday at 7 a.m. on 106.0 FM "The Eagle." Portions of each broadcast will then be re-aired throughout AFN Europe.
"I am trying to reach Sailors and their families in Europe and Africa," said LeVault. "I need to make sure they get as much information as possible and that they are informed on upcoming and current programs in the Navy."
During LeVault's last radio broadcast Oct. 22, he addressed the hot topic of forced retirement for chief petty officers. LeVault, along with 70 master chief petty officers and officers, convened for a continuation board Sept. 21 for two weeks at the Naval Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn., to review the records of 5,686 chiefs.
In addition to the concerns of Sailors, LeVault is also addressing the concerns of their dependents.
"I am particularly interested in family programs ... and I will continue to pick the topics that I feel are important," said LeVault. "But what I would really like is to hear the topics that the Sailors and families want to know about. Sailors and their families must have a venue for their voices to be heard. Regularly asking questions and receiving answers removes "the unknown" and empowers them with knowledge to bring positive changes to their careers, lives and environment."
LeVault has already worked with AFN to produce three television commercials covering issues such as the post 9/11 G.I. Bill, suicide prevention and the overseas housing allowance and move-in housing allowance survey.
