Blackanthem Military News, ENCINO, California - The Operation Gratitude 2006 Holiday Drive continued over the Thanksgiving weekend with another 15,209 packages assembled and shipped!! That brings the 2006 Holiday Drive total to 32,389 packages in the hands of, or on the way to, our troops who are spending this holiday season so far away from their homes and families.
"The pace has been phenomenal!" exclaimed Carolyn Blashek, founder of Operation Gratitude. "We have been setting records not only for the number of packages we have been able to ship, but for the extrordinary dedication and support of every one of our volunteers. I continue to be amazed and deeply appreciative" Blashek stated.
"Our work is not done yet, however," reports Charlie Othold, Director of Operations for Operation Gratitude. "We still have at least 20,000 more packages to go to reach our goal, and new requests for packages come in daily."
We need donations to reach our goal! Urge your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and colleagues to organize Collection Drives and Letter Writing Campaigns. Help us make sure every American troop feels appreciated this holiday season!!
Operation Gratitude care packages are filled with an assortment of non-perishable foods, entertainment items, personal care products, and messages of appreciation. We welcome donations of Wish List Items and Personal Letters for inclusion in the care packages.
"We need donations of everything", reports Judy Ihrig, Operation Gratitude Product Supervisor. "But our biggest need right now is for all the food items such as snacks, jerky, candy, and energy bars."
We will be accepting Wish List items and Letters through December 15. Please send your donations to:
