Blackanthem Military News, BAGHDAD, Iraq – Iraqi Army Forces killed four suspected insurgents during an operation seeking a targeted individual June 3 near Diwaniyah. The Iraqi Forces received small arms fire and rocket propelled grenade attacks as they moved to their objective. The Iraqi Forces suppressed the attack with well aimed fire. The insurgents are believed to be part of a militia involved in attacks on Coalition Forces and death squad activities against innocent civilians.

The Iraqi Forces did not find the targeted individual but seized a rifle and two hand grenades. Coalition Forces were present as advisors.

One Iraqi Army soldier died from wounds inflicted by small arms fire.
